The amount of stuff, interesting and otherwise, this house has accumulated in the past 80 years is practically unbearable.

As we empty more rooms of furniture, the house seems smaller and the task of moving everything out seems more impossible.

On Sunday, Bud and I moved the furniture from his dad's bedroom -- first downstairs to the front hall and then out of the house entirely. After that, a nap was in order. We'd feel so much closer to finished if we could ever run out of things to move down those stairs!

Saturday, we stopped at the tile place before the Kentucky game to return some sample boards and check out a couple more, which Bud graciously agreed to take back Monday while I work. (Turns out this tile shop is actually open half-days on Saturdays. Or at least it was this past Saturday. Love that.)

A difficult decision right now is paint for the kitchen and great room -- because the mix of color in the batch of slate tile we actually receive will determine whether the paint looks great or mismatched. I'm wondering if the kitchen tile can be laid before the walls are painted in the addition.

Right now, we're planning to paint most of the house "toasted almond," with departures in the bathrooms, the kitchen/great room, and possibly the master bedroom.
