The garage is fully insulated, and the siding subcontractors started doing their thing today. They finished the back soffit first.
We're still struggling with correcting the wrong-color stone facade, so the block layers probably won't be back for a while.
The big news, though, was at Bud's mom's house. When I came home for dinner, Bud and I took off for his dad's so I could get a look at today's progress. But as we passed his mom's, we found a new project.
One of the huge water maples in her front yard was lying on the ground, blown over by the wind that had accompanied a strong but brief rainstorm.
At first glance, we seem to have been pretty lucky. As it fell, the tree scraped off some paint and ripped away an awning. I had to lighten this photo quite a bit because it was nearly dark when we found the wreckage, so we're not sure we saw everything. We'll take a closer look in the morning.
Back to work for me now, and Bud's got all kinds of paperwork projects going on here.
