Bud conquered the water maple today. All that's left is some minor cleanup of leaves and small broken limbs.

At the other house, it was more of what's been going on all week. The siding subcontractors continued to work on the garage. Gary and Jimmy built some sort of frame (I don't know what it's actually called) around the outside edge of the floor joists.

We spent a good part of the day trying to fax a diagram of the foundation wall to the Amish stone makers. Their fax machine never answered, so Bud's driving the dimensions to them tomorrow morning.

The Amish furniture makers called this afternoon with an estimate. We haven't had time to compare their number with the others yet; that's the only project on deck for the weekend. They don't fax or e-mail, so we'll get a detailed bid by postal mail next week.

Carl, the HVAC contractor, turned the heat back on in the house, so we won't have worry about frozen pipes now that temperatures are starting cool off quite a bit at night. Bud said Carl has most of the upstairs system installed.
